Shetland Pony Therapy at Aegis Residential Care Home

We had two very special visitors at Aegis Residential Care Home yesterday afternoon! We welcomed two delightful Shetland Ponies, William and Snowy from Simply Shetlands into our lounge and bedrooms, and it’s safe to say they stole everyone’s hearts.

From gentle nuzzles to quiet companionship, the therapeutic benefits of animal visits are incredible. Seeing the pure joy on our residents’ faces reminds us why we love bringing these unique experiences into our home. These calm, well-trained ponies do more than just visit—they help reduce anxiety, boost moods, and even help our residents with dementia tap into wonderful past memories.

At Aegis, we are always striving to find new ways to boost wellbeing and keep life exciting. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this such a memorable day!
