Our Bradford Nursing Homes Host Annual ‘Wear It Pink’ Fundraiser
Lister and Sherrington House Nursing Homes in Bradford have once again demonstrated their commitment to a vital cause by hosting their annual ‘Wear It Pink’ Day event. This much-loved fundraiser is dedicated to raising essential awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity.
The day was a huge success, bringing together residents, dedicated staff, and supportive families for a wonderfully fun and meaningful morning. The atmosphere was vibrant and filled with laughter, with everyone embracing the theme by sporting shades of pink to show their support.
A Morning of Fun and Community for a Critical Cause
The heart of the fundraising fun was a lively game of ‘Boobie Bingo’, a firm favourite among attendees that encourages smiles and friendly competition! A big congratulations goes to Marie, who was the lucky winner of this year’s game.
Beyond the games, the event truly highlighted the spirit of the Bradford community within the homes. The incredible generosity shown through homemade cake and monetary donations was heartwarming. Every contribution, big or small, helps fuel the life-saving work of Breast Cancer Now.
Supporting Life-Changing Breast Cancer Research and Care
All proceeds from the Lister and Sherrington House event will go directly to Breast Cancer Now. These funds are crucial for supporting the charity’s mission:
- Funding pioneering breast cancer research to find new ways to prevent, detect, and treat the disease.
- Providing vital support and information for people affected by breast cancer, offering a lifeline during a difficult time.
The annual ‘Wear It Pink’ event is a powerful demonstration of how local nursing homes can make a significant impact on a national health issue, building community spirit while supporting a critical cause.
