Why Intergenerational Connection is the Heart of Quality Care
At Aegis Care Homes, we believe that staying connected to the local community is vital for the well-being of our residents. This week, we were thrilled to see that philosophy in action as we welcomed students from St. Philip’s School back to Lister & Sherrington House.
Our ongoing linking project is more than just a scheduled visit; it’s a bridge between generations. Watching the students engage with our residents over games of Dobble, shared stories, and jigsaw puzzles highlights the profound impact of social integration:
- Combating Isolation: Meaningful interaction with younger generations brings a unique energy and joy to our residents.
- Building Empathy: Students gain perspective and life lessons from those who have decades of wisdom to share.
- Strengthening Community: These partnerships weave our care homes into the fabric of Bradford’s local life.
The laughter and smiles captured during the visit are a testament to why we are so committed to this project. A huge thank you to the staff and students at St. Philip’s School for their continued partnership.
